Weed-Martin Wedding

April 29, 2008

…and now Saturday. Jenny and Travis were married at Christ Church Episcopal on Pouncey Tract in the West End. From there, we whisked off to the Hermitage Country Club, where the service and staff are always excellent. The reception was, as expected from these two families, fun and energetic. We really enjoyed ourselves and, when it was all over, thought the time passed far too quickly. Thank you to the Weeds and Martins for a wonderful time. Enjoy!

The wedding weekend for Jenny and Travis started off with a fantastic dinner at Patina Grill (one of Lindsay’s personal favorites) in Richmond’s West End. I was there to catch a few moments and watch the families and close friends help the couple prepare for their big Saturday.

Markatos-Rogers Wedding

April 23, 2008

The April showers have been threatening every event in Richmond since the middle of March. With that in mind, we had a few worries heading in to the weekend with Maryann and Dean. Luckily, the fears were unfounded and everything went off without a hitch. We started at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Springfield where the ceremony took place and traveled out to Powhatan and the always lovely Mill at Fine Creek. We even found a little time to duck away and do a few portraits down by the stream before the evening rains started. Thank you to the Markatos and Rogers families for a wonderful evening. The flowers are by FloraCulture, the

Enjoy.

Studio, Part 1

April 15, 2008

This will be the first of what will be several introductions to our new studio space at 1623 West Broad. It was a long renovation process, conceived and executed by Ansel Olson (Ansel Olson Design) and Peter Fraser (Fraser Design Associates). As a cooperative environment, the possibilities are simply endless. It feels like a second home after a few short weeks and continues to become a bigger part of our lives.

I’ve included a few shots here on the blog, but I encourage you to click on the link below for a bigger and better view! I know there are only a few smiles and smirks in the slide show, but I’ve been told that’s what happens when you shoot at the end of a long day of furniture and heavy boxes!! I promise happier faces and certainly more smiles on the next go ’round.

These are images from the first two days of “occupation” so it’s first a little bare, then a little cluttered. The security system was being installed, electricity and HVAC was in the final stages, and there was just a buzz of energy as things were being moved in to place. We’ll update soon!
