Sarah and Casey were married with this weekend here in Richmond so I *think* it’s safe to post these now. Sarah, along with her mother and all three sisters were on hand to assist (very ably I might add) along with the fearless Lloyd as we ran, climbed, and crawled through a variety of poses at the Bolling-Haxall House and Libby Hill Park.  Hope you enjoy them and we can’t wait to post the wedding images!

Sussman-Conklin Wedding

July 20, 2009

All I have to say is…dress whites.  Does it get cooler than that?  Seriously.  It’s summer.  Guys…trade in the black tux for a Government issue white on white.  It’s all the rage.  Karen and Jim, you had a fantastic wedding and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.  We can’t wait to see you back here again and thank you for the chance to be a part of your day.  Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens was lovely as always and Windy Jennings and staff from Weddings By Windy were incredible to work with.  Enjoy!

Dazenski-Gouldin Wedding

July 19, 2009

Working in Richmond is fabulous because our weather affords us an extended (but unofficial) wedding season.  Often we’ll see an unbroken string of weddings from April until November.  So, by the time June rolls around we are well in to the season and still looking at another six months before our “holiday” time.  So, it’s great to kick off June with a fantastic wedding that will motivate us through the heat of summer.  Ellyn, Richard, and their delightful families certainly provided us with that.  Starting with their engagement session late last year and right through the reception, these two have been a treat to work with.  Their beautiful ceremony at the Jepson Center on the University of Richmond campus lead to an elegant evening at the main ballroom of the Omni Downtown Richmond.  The details were attended to wonderfully by Colleen and her excellent staff at C.C.’s Creative and Unique Events.  Enjoy!

I love discovering new locations when it comes to sessions, so it was a pleasant surprise when Audra and Ryan suggested two locations I hadn’t photographed before:  the Douglas Baird House and the Fulton Gas Works.  They were engaged at the former and the latter is just, by repuation, a very cool Richmond historical spot.  You can see the Baird house is a neat little location, right next to the famous Beauregard’s with some neat little nooks and crannies within a short walk.  Fulton Gas Works…well that proved to be a very cool historical spot surrounded by “No Trespassing” signs :)   Not wanting to end the session with a ticket from Richmond’s finest, we went around the corner to the old ship lock…very cool indeed and worthy replacement.  All in all, a pretty cool adventure (and Audra and Ryan were fantastic…but you can see that).  Enjoy!
