If you remember the wedding post…(Erin and Dan’s Wedding)…you’ll have no doubts as to the depths of their class, elegance, and outright insanity. The trend continues…
When we were planning the session, Kristie and Joe said “We trust ya…find us a spot”. So I went through all the great places in my head that I know Richmond can provide for great photography. I knew they were fun and were up for a little adventure, so I suggested we head to a location that I hadn’t even visited for fun in years, much less photographed: Pump House Park on the James River. I’m so glad we did. All the little surprises that oft-forgotten park holds was just the ticket. We left there for a little fun around the Fan next the studio. As the evening drew close we all agreed we’d had a blast and couldn’t wait to get back in a few days to view the results. Thanks to you two. I was so happy to see how excited you were in studio today. I hope everyone enjoys them!
Ahh…two great sessions in one day and it’s not even a Friday (of course, for wedding photographers Mondays are more like Fridays but let’s leave that alone for translations sake).
Carolyn and Josh, University of Richmond grads and happy residents of our fair town, decided on their campus alumnus as the location for a fun engagement session. Spring brings in quite a bit of beautiful to the lake and commons areas so I could concentrate on these two and not worry one bit about the backdrop. Hope you enjoy them (and our wonderul renewed spring weather)!
Shockoe Bottom is both iconic and fascinaiting to me and, not matter how many times I visit, I never run out of new ways to see and photograph it. When Jay and Audrey suggested it as their location I was thrilled, of course. It did help just a little that they were so much fun to work with and laughed almost the entire session. Life doesn’t get any easier when you get happy couples and beautiful locations. Enjoy.
With the unfortunate closing of Toad’s Place to national and regional concerts, we were a little concered for Kati and Blake as they had scheduled their ceremony and reception for the venue. When they told us that not only would they have access for their event, but they’d have sound and lighting you can imagine our excitement. Light is everything for photographers. Whether it’s simple window light or a full-blown concert-style affair, it’s truly a gift to be able to enjoy such a variety and capture it for Blake and Kati. We hope you enjoy it, too.
Our dear friend Bill Gaff over at Human Story Films was kind enough to give us a call about Jamilah and Wissam several months ago. We were thrilled when they invited us to be a part of their wedding day as we’d yet to capture a wedding at this beautiful location in one of our favorite cities. It certainly didn’t disappoint and we hope to return very soon. Please enjoy.
Shhh….
This was a new one for us, definitely. We met J.J. and Hillary at Michelle and Lamar’s wedding back in March. You can imagine how thrilled we were to be asked by J.J. to be the “secret photographer” when he asked Hillary to be his wife. After a little bit of subterfuge, using our babysitter and our daughter as decoy subjects, we got in position to capture the pivotal moment and family celebration that followed. Come on people…I want more of these!
