Meghan (Ms. McSweeney, still filling in for Lindsay while our daughter slept and ate her way past newborn-ness) and I couldn’t believe our luck as we’d paired up for gorgeous weekend after gorgeous weekend.  A wedding photographer’s life is completely ruled by the weather.  Rain, snow, dark clouds, a chilly breeze…they all have their charm and a professional photographer should certainly know how to handle and excel in each one, but I can’t deny that a sunny, cool day is just a bit easier on the spirits.  Well, the Allen and McCurry families were treated to exactly that.  Randi and Ryan were married at the lovely All Saints Episcopal Church on River Road in Richmond, VA.  From there, we settled in for an evening reception at the James River campus of the Country Club of Virginia. As the reception wore on you can see the party took on a dual flavor; a crowded dance floor with the Club’s effortlessly good staff buzzing about and the quieter south lawn where folks enjoyed the clear night air and a quieter atmosphere.   Enjoy!

We’d gotten to know Kristie and Joe pretty well over the past year, first taking them around the city for their engagement session, then during Kristie’s bridal session at the lovely Maury Place Bed and Breakfast.  We knew of Joe’s love of all things Microsoft (where he works in Seattle) and their shared love of all things Hokie (both graduated from Virginia Tech).  What we didn’t know was how many great moments they’d give us on the wedding day.  With the help of the Salisbury Country Club and our friends over at United Weddings, we had a fantastic evening with White and Bourne Families.  Enjoy!

We met Hannah and Toufic during the wedding of Jamilah and Wissam (you can view their wedding here) a little while ago and were thrilled to hear from Windy Jennings at Weddings by Windy that we’d be returning to photograph that lovely group of friends and family.  We started the day getting ready with Hannah at the Hotel Sierra in Short Pump. Toufic and friends waited for the day at home, preparing for the trip to  St. Mary’s Catholic Church for the first of two ceremonies.  From there, we travelled to The Mill at Fine Creek for the second ceremony and the evening reception.  As usual, Lisa, Colleen, and staff did a wonderful job .  And we’d love to introduce the folks over at Blue Steel Lighting and Design for the fantastic lighting backdrop.  Enjoy!

And now we start the big fall catch up on weddings.  There are, at last count, 12 weddings just dying to make it to this blog.  So, without further ado…let’s go.  Angela, at Angela’s Elegant Events, asked us if we could kindly pop Morgan and Steve up here and we were happy to oblige her.   Hopefully these images will show why.

With Lindsay’s time at the University of Virginia and our mutual love of the mountains (and wineries!), weddings in Charlottesville always make us happy.  So, a ceremony at the UVA chapel and a reception at the Veritas Vineyards gave us the perfect match.  Morgan and Steve, along with their friends and family, certainly didn’t disappoint either.  From a touching, emotional ceremony to a rockin’ reception complete with multiple creme pies to multiple faces (Phi Gamma Delta tradition, no doubt), the evening ended with sparklers and a bang.  Enjoy!
