It’s always wonderful to hear from and see our past brides and grooms, regardless of the reason. I do have to say that sharing time with them as they start their life as parents is particularly special. We photographed Angelica’s and Mike’s wedding a few years ago and were thrilled to hear from them again and hear the news that they were expecting. Thanks to you both for two wonderful sessions and we look forward to watching Victor grow. Enjoy!
Let us introduce the Miller-Mattis family, photographed on a beautiful spring day in Maymont Park. While weddings are a vast majority of what we do and love, it’s refreshing to spend time with a select number of families each year. And we love transporting our natural style of photography over to our family sessions. We think there’s nothing like seeing your loved little bunch not as we want them posed, but as they really are. With sweet little Olive and the ever-kinetic Jasper…absolutely no problems there! Thank you, Lauren and Ross, for letting us in to your little circle for a while. It was a pleasure.
We happily allow messes to happen.
Lindsay put a yogurt spoon in our 4 year old’s hand and let her go to work on feeding our 10 month old, then set about to document the occasion. Annie never met a grown up task she didn’t want to attempt immediately and with haste. Vivian never met a spoonful of yogurt she didn’t love. Here’s the process, the visual evidence, and the effect of Vivian trying to chase down a spoon in the hands of a giggling toddler.
The saying about “you take more photos of your first child than any other” hasn’t been true for us. We’ve taken a boat load. However, I will say we haven’t done nearly as thorough a job of showing them off. So, let’s rectify that. Shall we?
I surprised Lindsay by holding a very fast portrait session with Annie and Vivian. These are being made in to a canvas triptych as I type this and will look great in the playroom. (plus an “outtake”, just for fun)
I hope everyone is enjoying the “balmy” 40 degree weather!
Part 2 in our year with Jennifer, Gauri, and their beautiful son Riyaan. I love to see the joy in new parents’ faces as their child moves through these precious early months. See if you can pick out a theme or two from his newborn session. Enjoy!
Thank you to Bill and Juliet for making us a part of the family for a brief time. It was just enough time to know that he’s a dream subject. Besides being charming and handsome…he slept on command, sported a dashing wardrobe, and was kind enough to allow his parents in on the fun. Enjoy!
…a baby to be named later 🙂
Thanks, you two. We can’t wait to get the good news!
It’s been fantastic getting to see Jennifer and Gauri again. You see, we photographed their wedding a few years back and were so excited when they decided to be parents that they wanted us to record the first year of their child’s life in images. Well, recently they let us know that Riyaan had arrived and their little boy was ready for his close up. As is want to happen, the beloved “first child” Ruskin (that’s the yellow furry one) looks less than amused at having his affection diminished but seems to understand his new role quite well. Pay attention to the cricket bat as it may just pop here and there as we travel with him to that wonderful 1 year birthday mark. Enjoy!
We were so fortunate to have the opportunity to join Lindsay and Nick for their daughter’s Christening party. While the rain kept us inside for most of the afternoon, everyone was in great spirits and we had the pleasure of meeting the entire family while they celebrated. We did manage to dodge the drizzle and take a few portraits in their beautiful yard, and Lillian and her brother Robert (along with their adorable cousins) didn’t mind the inside time one bit 🙂 Enjoy.
