Well, the winter weather held off just long enough to allow everyone to have a great time this past December with the Marchi and Lewis families. Some came all the way from the Rocky Mountains of Montana to enjoy the beautiful St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the new downtown Hilton Garden Inn. Congratulation to Jenna and Ben on a wonderful winter wedding!
Having spent very little time on the west coast, travelling or otherwise, we were elated when Catherine contacted us and asked if we’d be willing to travel to San Diego, CA to shoot her wedding. It took approximately five seconds to get from “Really?” to “Of course we’d be delighted!”. And the rest of the story is what you see below, a happy and beautiful couple who married each other just off the oceanfront of La Jolla, CA (15 minutes north of San Diego) in an area known as “The Cove”. After a little time on, around, and under the ocean side cliffs we moved off to The Catamaran resort on Mission Bay. Thank you, Catherine and Taylor, for the privilege of being there for you and providing us with such a wonderful experience. We…umm…yanno…would maybe consider another trip should a friend or two need a photograph. 🙂 Enjoy!
Sean and Folayan had a wonderful fall wedding in Richmond, traveling down from New York and New Jersey to share their day with friends and family from across the state and the country. First at St. Paul’s in the Southside of Richmond and then on to the historic Main Street Station, the happy couple were so obviously surrounded by people who loved them and enjoyed spending the evening in their company. We were honored to be a part of their day, as well. Enjoy!
Ever since we met Celeste (thank you, Liz!), we have been looking forward to their wedding day. She and Bobby have been so fun to work with and their families have been so involved and appreciative that it we felt like part of the family from day one. Their wedding was at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, followed by a beautiful Willow Oaks Country Club reception. Everyone had a blast, like there was any question about that happening…Enjoy!

Christina and Brent were married in the beautiful Japanese Gardens of Maymont Park of Richmond, VA. Guests and family flew in from around the world to share in their wedding day celebration. We were certainly honored to be a part of the day and know (if we were only judging from their smiles!) they had a blast. Thanks to them both, and their family and friends. Enjoy!
Caitlin and Kevin chose St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for the ceremony and would couldn’t have been more pleased. While we’d had the opportunity to photograph inside the more famous St. John’s across the street in Church Hill, we had no idea what a little gem this place would be. Their beautiful ceremony and fun little portrait session in the surrounding streets of the neighborhood led us on to the Willow Oaks Country Club for the reception. Having gotten to know these two along with many of their friends from the Cloak-Cole wedding a few years back (see Kristan and Travis a few posts down for an update on their happy status), we had no doubt as to how fun this party would be. Enjoy!
Driving through the Shenandoah Valley is rarely disappointing. We’ve done a deal of traveling and I still say it ranks as one of the most beautiful places in the country for a drive or a hike. When your ultimate destination is the Homestead, well it just makes the drive all that much better. Jacqueline and Brad were kind enough to host us for a beautiful evening in Hot Springs, VA full of wonderful family and hilarious friends. Thank you to both families for being gracious and a delight to work for and with. Enjoy!
Having spent a good amount of time in various parts of the Eastern Shore (Chincoteage, Tilghman Igland, St. Michael’s and Onancock being some of our favorites) we were very exctied when Melanie and John asked us to be a part of their wedding day in an area where we’d spent little time. North of the Route 50 bridge, close to Chestertown, MD is a beautiful little area on the Sassafras River where we were fortunate to spend two days with the families documenting their rehearsal and wedding evenings. The sunsets didn’t disappoint and the weather (a little unpredictable here at times) was wonderful from start to finish. Thank you, you two, and everyone enjoy the images!
Laura and Kent were married on a beautiful August afternoon in Richmond. They chose First English Lutheran and The Country Club of Virginia as their settings in what proved to be a fun and elegant affair. Families and friends laughed, toasted, danced, and cheered as they made their way down the aisle, on to the dance floor, and away to their honeymoon. Enjoy!
We can’t express how much fun it’s been to get to know Casey and Sarah. Through the meetings, the bridal session, the very funny and complimentary Facebook posts and definitely on the wedding day, it was sad to know it was over. So…now we need some fine young men to step up and wow the Boutwell and/or Korman sisters (all beautiful I might add) so we can have the privilege again soon 🙂 Enjoy the images and we can’t wait to see you all again!
