Driving through the Shenandoah Valley is rarely disappointing. We’ve done a deal of traveling and I still say it ranks as one of the most beautiful places in the country for a drive or a hike. When your ultimate destination is the Homestead, well it just makes the drive all that much better. Jacqueline and Brad were kind enough to host us for a beautiful evening in Hot Springs, VA full of wonderful family and hilarious friends. Thank you to both families for being gracious and a delight to work for and with. Enjoy!
Having spent a good amount of time in various parts of the Eastern Shore (Chincoteage, Tilghman Igland, St. Michael’s and Onancock being some of our favorites) we were very exctied when Melanie and John asked us to be a part of their wedding day in an area where we’d spent little time. North of the Route 50 bridge, close to Chestertown, MD is a beautiful little area on the Sassafras River where we were fortunate to spend two days with the families documenting their rehearsal and wedding evenings. The sunsets didn’t disappoint and the weather (a little unpredictable here at times) was wonderful from start to finish. Thank you, you two, and everyone enjoy the images!
Laura and Kent were married on a beautiful August afternoon in Richmond. They chose First English Lutheran and The Country Club of Virginia as their settings in what proved to be a fun and elegant affair. Families and friends laughed, toasted, danced, and cheered as they made their way down the aisle, on to the dance floor, and away to their honeymoon. Enjoy!
It’s been fantastic getting to see Jennifer and Gauri again. You see, we photographed their wedding a few years back and were so excited when they decided to be parents that they wanted us to record the first year of their child’s life in images. Well, recently they let us know that Riyaan had arrived and their little boy was ready for his close up. As is want to happen, the beloved “first child” Ruskin (that’s the yellow furry one) looks less than amused at having his affection diminished but seems to understand his new role quite well. Pay attention to the cricket bat as it may just pop here and there as we travel with him to that wonderful 1 year birthday mark. Enjoy!
We can’t express how much fun it’s been to get to know Casey and Sarah. Through the meetings, the bridal session, the very funny and complimentary Facebook posts and definitely on the wedding day, it was sad to know it was over. So…now we need some fine young men to step up and wow the Boutwell and/or Korman sisters (all beautiful I might add) so we can have the privilege again soon 🙂 Enjoy the images and we can’t wait to see you all again!
Tina and Roger brought family in from all over the east coast (Southside Virginia and NYC/Long Island mostly) to share in their wedding day at the beautiful Mankin Mansion in east Richmond. Paula, Martin, and staff were as delightful as usual and the weather, while a little hot, was something to cheer about as we had sunny skies and a beautiful evening to work with. Thank you to both families and please enjoy the images.
The mountains of VA are, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful places on earth. So, you can imagine how thrilled we were when Tom and Amy invited us out to Lexington, VA to be a part of their wedding weekend at the House Mountain Inn. The Alphin family farm was destination #1 for a great little rehearsal dinner (interrupted by a last-minute engagement session!). Day 2 brought us back to the Inn for a mountain wedding that was simply a joy to be a part of. Thank you, Amy and Tom. Everyone, enjoy!
Bonnie and Mike were married at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Richmond on a beautiful summer afteroon in June. Friends and family came together for a traditional Catholic ceremony with a few of the wonderful observances that are traditions of the Filipino culture. From there, we jetted west to the new Westin hotel. There, Arik Cullen and the Westin staff did a wonderful job (and it’s a lovely venue) and everyone was friendly and a joy to work with. Alan Boyle with Choice Entertainment did his typical excellent job in keeping the party going and keeping it fun. Enjoy!
After a very long month or so on the road it’s good to be back home, back in studio, and catching up with the blog. More to follow, much to post. Thanks for stopping by and we hope you enjoy the images to come.

Sarah and Casey were married with this weekend here in Richmond so I *think* it’s safe to post these now. Sarah, along with her mother and all three sisters were on hand to assist (very ably I might add) along with the fearless Lloyd as we ran, climbed, and crawled through a variety of poses at the Bolling-Haxall House and Libby Hill Park. Hope you enjoy them and we can’t wait to post the wedding images!
