We’re very happy to finally share this wedding with you, as we were waiting until Style Me Pretty gave us the word that they had published the event. You can find the link to their post right here. But, in addition to the great details and portraits that were featured there, we thought it only fitting to share so many more amazing moments from the day. Shannon and Zach, you were amazing as always. Thank you to Barbara and the rest of the staff at Keswick Vineyards and to the Groovin’ Gourmets for their dependably beautiful and delicious food. Enjoy!
We posted a sneak-peek way back in the winter, but since Emily and Nick with their beautiful St. Bridget’s and VCA wedding have found a home on the Perfect Bound wedding blog (click on the link, silly) it’s time to post even more of our favorites. Thank you to all our vendor friends and the Butler and Perry families for an exceptional occasion. Enjoy!
Check out Shannon, Matt and their Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens wedding from this past summer. A very funny couple, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know them throughout their planning process. We knew, given their personalities, that there would be no shortage of hilarious moments. We topped the evening off with a quick trip to the after party at Lemaire. Normally, we don’t recommend photographs past a certain point in the evening but something told me we’d be OK and, sure enough, it resulted in one of my favorite party portraits.
And, of course, thank you to the staff at Lewis Ginter and CCS Events for another delightful wedding. Enjoy!
Here’s a little fun from this past fall, featuring Mallory and Matt, a host of fun family and friends, and two great Richmond venues. We started the day at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart which always makes for a beautiful ceremony. Then it was off to The Omni Downtown Richmond where the personalities of these two great families really started to shine. And, as if the evening wasn’t “Richmond” enough, there was a raucous appearance by the Hokie Bird, who stayed and danced with the crowd for quite some time. We were a little bummed to see such a great party end, but it was a thrill to be a part of it regardless. Enjoy the warm winter weather and we’ll be posting so much more from this past season through the next few weeks!
Welcome back to Dee and Patrick as we introduce their wedding celebration to the blog. You may remember their engagement session from it’s recent publication in the Washingtonian Bridal Blog. Well, we were so happy for them when their wedding day arrived, not just because they’re a fantastic couple and have been a joy to photograph and be around, but also because we knew what details and venues they had in store for their family and guests. It was two firsts for Lindsay and I when it came to locations. First, the ceremony was held in the historic, famous, and elegantly designed Monumental Church. Then it we all took off for the first wedding event in the newly opened Old Dominion Railway Museum just across the 14th Street Bridge in Manchester. Special thanks to CCS Events for the coordination and delightful designs and to Imperial Catering for the delicious spread.
Enjoy!
Lindsay and I have always thought that one of the perks of living in Richmond was how easy it is to hop a train or simply drive up to D.C. for the day or a weekend. And, when it comes to weddings, there are no shortages of wonderful venues and historic churches for our couples to choose. Alison and Dan chose Holy Trinity Catholic and the Halcyon House, two iconic Georgetown settings. Between their cross cultural themes, vibrant colors throughout the details, and energetic guests, it was delight to document their day. We even had a quick trip over to the gardens at Tudor Place during the cocktail hour for a little portrait session. The night was that much better because we had our friend and genius coordinator, Ryan Michael Hayes of Blue Canary, in on the fun.
Also, congratulations to Alison and Dan for getting selected for the Washingtonian’s Bridal blog. I think it was an easy choice given their wonderful mixture of contemporary details fused with traditional Peruvian customs and food. I didn’t mind one bit waiting to publish this lovely event to the blog when we heard the news that Southern Weddings had chosen Alex and Paul to be featured this month. Their gorgeous summer wedding was the perfect blend of East and West Coast styles that typified this Long Island bride and California groom. The ceremony was at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, always a favorite of ours for the unique lighting, architecture, and very easy to work with clergy and staff. Then it was off to Maymont with a twist for the location. A beautiful three-pole Sperry tent was set up just outside the Stone Barn for the reception, with the Italian Gardens as a backdrop for the cocktail hour.

And here are more highlights from the festivities to enjoy!
We have been dying to show off this wedding for a while, so we were thrilled to hear that Glamour and Grace had picked up their wedding and published them to their blog. From the very beginning of our time working with Sian and David we knew this would be a unique event, colored with such intimate details that meant something to them both and their families. And while “vintage” has been such a buzz word for a while in wedding photography I have never seen an event that embodied the word like this one. The elegant details both inside and out of their family farm house in the Richmond countryside show the wonderful synergy between the couple’s natural style and the end results on the wedding day. Horse and buggy, bird cage veil, tux with tails, house filled with family heirlooms covering more than a century…wow.
So, enjoy the images from their day, check out the link to their Glamour and Grace blog posting (http://glamourandgraceblog.com/2011/vintage-plantation-home/), and have a Happy New Year!
Greek weddings we’ve done. Armenian weddings we’ve done. Greek and Armenian together in the same celebration? What’s not to love? Toula and Gagik have such warm and funny families that it was a joy to be a part of it. Thank you to Blue Steel Pro Lighting, The Omni Downtown Richmond, Cakes by Graham, Vogue Flowers, and Paper on the Avenue for the lovely details, designs, and coordination.
Enjoy!
